Louis Gossett Jr. Passes Away at 87
Louis Gossett Jr., the legendary actor famous for An Officer and a Gentleman and Roots, has died at the age of 87. He passed away in Santa Monica, California, on March 28, 2024, after battling chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), with heart failure and atrial fibrillation as contributing factors.

Gossett made history as the first Black actor to win an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. His career spanned over 200 projects, and he had 12 more in development. Though he won’t see his upcoming work completed, his impact on Hollywood is undeniable.
