A White House official has confirmed that Todd and Julie Chrisley will receive pardons from Donald Trump, as announced on May 27. The official stated that Trump plans to sign the pardons by the end of May 28, despite never having met the couple himself. Trump did, however, mention he knows their daughter, Savannah Chrisley. Alice Marie Johnson, a criminal justice reform advocate, reportedly presented their case to Trump.
The Chrisleys, convicted of wire fraud, conspiracy to commit bank fraud, and conspiracy to defraud the U.S. in June 2022, have been serving their sentences since January 2023. Todd’s sentence was reduced to 10 years in September 2023, while Julie’s was overturned in 2024 before being reinstated. Trump called Savannah on May 27, telling her, “I hear they’re terrific people. This should not have happened.” Earlier this year, Savannah spoke of her efforts to have her parents pardoned, saying she was “going through the proper channels” and raising awareness for their case.
