A Miracle on the Blackstone River
In a remarkable turn of events, kayakers on a quiet stretch of Blackstone River in Massachusetts made a shocking discovery. They noticed a potato sack floating nearby but thought little of it—until faint noises caught their attention.
A Shocking Discovery
Curious, the kayakers paddled over and noticed the sack moving. They pulled it from the water, revealing a heartbreaking sight: six tiny, newborn puppies inside, all miraculously alive. The kayakers immediately rescued the puppies and contacted authorities, according to CBS.
“Guardian Angels” on the River
Uxbridge Police Chief Jeffrey Lourie praised the kayakers, saying, “As a police chief, I believe they had guardian angels looking over them.” He noted that the puppies’ survival was a narrow escape, as they could have easily drowned.
Investigation and Search for Suspect
The puppies, estimated to be just seven days old, are now safe under Uxbridge Animal Control’s care. Police are determined to find the individual responsible, describing them as a “low life” in a Facebook post. Chief Lourie called the act “heinous” and is pursuing six counts of animal cruelty against the suspect.
A Hope for Loving Homes
Chief Lourie’s reaction reflects the heartbreak shared by many animal lovers. Thankfully, the puppies are now safe. Please share this story and help find them loving forever homes.
