Louis Gossett Jr., the legendary actor famous for An Officer and a Gentleman and Roots, has died at the age of 87. He passed away in Santa Monica, California, on March 28, 2024, after battling chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), with heart failure and atrial fibrillation as contributing factors.
