Terry Crews: Family First
Terry Crews is famous for his booming laugh, impressive physique, and roles in hits like Brooklyn Nine-Nine. But behind the Hollywood spotlight, he says his most important role is being a husband and father. Over three decades, the actor, former NFL player, and author has built a life centered on family.
With his wife, Rebecca King-Crews, he has raised five children. Terry proudly states that his children, not his career, are his real legacy. “The movies and all the things I’ve done? They’re not my legacy. It’s really my son, and my daughters, and my family. That’s the legacy,” he said.
Building a Family
Terry met Rebecca at Western Michigan University. She was a young mom raising her daughter Naomi. They married in 1989, and Terry immediately embraced fatherhood. By age 20, he was both a husband and a dad.
The couple expanded their family with four more children, but life wasn’t without challenges. They faced heartbreak, including three miscarriages — experiences they have shared publicly. Despite these struggles, Terry stayed grounded, learning and growing as a father at every stage.

1. Naomi Burton-Crews
Naomi, Rebecca’s daughter from a previous relationship, has always been Terry’s daughter in every sense. Their bond faced teenage struggles when Naomi moved out, citing her father’s strictness. Years later, they rebuilt their relationship. Naomi is now a mother, making Terry and Rebecca proud grandparents.
2. Azriél Patricia Crews
Azriél is Terry and Rebecca’s first biological child. Early on, Terry tried to be the “fun dad” but sometimes missed structure. Today, Azriél shines as an actress in shows like Katy Keene, Younger, and High Maintenance.
3. Tera Zella Crews
Born eight years after Azriél, Tera’s early years reflected Terry’s parenting growth. He often used gifts and fun to engage her while Rebecca maintained consistency. Their bond has strengthened over time, and Terry frequently celebrates her achievements on social media.
4. Wynfrey “Winnie” Crews
Wynfrey added energy to the family. In 2016, a health scare — an emergency appendectomy in London — reminded Terry of life’s fragility and the importance of his children. He shared heartfelt gratitude for her recovery.
5. Isaiah Samuel Crews
Born in 2005, Isaiah is Terry’s youngest and only son. By then, Terry had refined his parenting style, emphasizing structure, accountability, and emotional growth. Isaiah now stars in Nickelodeon’s Side Hustle, and in 2021, Terry guest-starred on one of his episodes — a full-circle, emotional moment. “This is just the height of living — watching your kids live their dreams and then participating with them,” he wrote.
