Eventually, the couple realized their home needed to reflect their personalities and family needs. They hired Chicago designer John Wolf to help. Together, they merged Wahlberg’s love of music and McCarthy’s signature glam style.
The transformation began with a baby grand piano gifted by a friend. From there, furnishings like couches, chairs, and rugs gradually filled the house. Each addition brought them closer to the sanctuary they envisioned.

The living spaces feel cozy and welcoming. Chic sofas sit alongside art that reflects McCarthy’s fascination with ascension and angels. Personal details stand out, like silver “D” and “J” handles on the doors of McCarthy’s sewing room.
The kitchen, with its large island and high-top stools, serves as the heart of the home. Wahlberg said, “This is the spot where everyone gathers.”
Wahlberg’s Home Office: A Nod to His Roots
One standout room is Wahlberg’s office. It showcases framed memorabilia from his music career and Boston roots. Platinum records, concert posters, signed jerseys, and Celtics artwork fill the walls.
The space balances man cave and museum vibes. Natural light floods in through large windows, while rich wood and dark drapery create warmth.

Diagnosed with autism as a child, Evan’s milestones — graduating high school in 2021 and completing college — brought immense pride to both McCarthy and Wahlberg. Wahlberg posted a heartfelt tribute on Evan’s high school graduation, praising the resilience of the class of 2021.
