Jane, a 50-year-old woman, faces judgment from her neighbors for being pregnant at her age. Her neighbor Amanda, who initially recruits her for a book club, is particularly critical and nosy about Jane’s situation.

Amanda invites Jane to her book club, but Jane soon stops attending. After a month, Amanda sees Jane pregnant and spreads gossip.
