After a six-year journey, Kim Kardashian successfully finished her law school program, but her admirers quickly ridiculed her with the same reaction.

The 44-year-old reality TV actress proudly posted the video to her Instagram, where she was the only student, and celebrated the accomplishment with a backyard ceremony. However, she received a lot of backlash for waiting so long to finish a three-year curriculum.

As her mentors gave speeches congratulating her as her family and children looked on, the mother of four was seen seated close to a podium wearing a grey blouse, a black miniskirt, and a beige graduation cap.

It was even described as “one of the most inspiring legal journeys we’ve ever seen” by one of her mentors.

Kardashian did not pursue a conventional legal education. Instead of attending law school, people in California can become lawyers by finishing a four-year Law Office Study Program (LOSP), sometimes referred to as “reading the law.” To practise law in the state, she must still pass the bar exam.

Her guru continued by discussing Kim’s “fierce desire to fight for justice” and pointing out that the celebrity was full of “determination” and did not take any quick routes.

She added Kim finished the program while “raising four children, running businesses, filming television shows, and showing up in courtrooms to advocate for others.” 

Another mentor spoke about how Kim has “advocated for clemency, helped reunite families, and brought national attention to the most broken parts of our legal system.” 

At the ceremony, CNN’s Van Jones also gave her kudos for her work in criminal justice.

Later, while her younger three children, Chicago, 7, Saint, 9, and Psalm, 5, watched, Kim went to the stage to receive her graduation.

Not all admirers, though, were impressed; others made fun of Kim’s lengthy completion time.

Lmao 6 years to finish her “bar prep” program,’ one wrote.

“And it only took her double the amount of time!”

“Gurl 6 years for a law school.”

“Girl it takes THREE. You didn’t graduate, you just caught up.”

“Mind you law school is supposed to take 3 years.”

“Took her long enough.”

“Is it supposed to take this long?” someone else asked, while another joked that Kim must have only taken one class per semester.

“To do what exactly?” another questioned.

However others were more understanding, with one writing, “she was building skims, raising four kids, running an empire and studying law…this is her legally brunette era and i support it.”

Khloe Kardashian, her sister, posted a video of the event and said she was proud of Kim for finishing the journey.

Kourtney Kardashian, the older sister, joined in the celebration by posting a picture on Instagram wearing a graduation cap.

President Donald Trump’s daughter, Ivanka Trump — who’s good friends with Kim — congratulated the star, sharing a photo from the graduation and writing, “Congratulations Kim! You did it! My favorite law school graduate!” 

Kim has spent more than 5,000 hours studying law over the last six years, or around 18 hours every week. The ‘baby bar’ was passed in 2021, a testament to her perseverance.

Because of Kim’s hectic schedule and the COVID-19 outbreak, her process took more than four years.

According to insiders who spoke to TMZ, Kim had previously passed the Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination in March, which is a significant test for her degree.

The celebrity celebrated her graduation at a hotel in Beverly Hills.

Black stockings and white heels completed Kim’s stylish ensemble for the day.

It’s unknown whether her eleven-year-old eldest daughter, North West, was there.

Kim and her 47-year-old ex-husband Kanye West share all four of their children.

The celebrity posted a picture of her late father, renowned lawyer Robert Kardashian, indicating that she was thinking about him on this memorable day.

As a friend and defence lawyer on O.J. Simpson’s legal “Dream Team,” he became well-known across the country in the mid-1990s for his role in the murder trial.

He died of esophageal cancer in 2003. His age was fifty-nine.

Kim also proudly added, “My babies were there to see my graduate,” beside a cute photo of her son Psalm eating ice cream while wearing a suit.

Chicago, the daughter, wore a suit to see her mother graduate.

Kim also displayed a picture of the placemats, which were copies of her study flash cards, at the party.

According to reports, the reality TV personality intends to sit for the bar test in 2026.

Kim began pursuing her goal of becoming a lawyer like her father in 2018.

In the middle of 2019, she began her legal apprenticeship in California.
