Gere, famous for his role in Pretty Woman, plans to relocate to Europe. His wife, Alejandra Silva, hails from Spain, and the move will bring her closer to her roots. Gere shared, “For Alejandra, it will be wonderful to be closer to her family, lifelong friends, and culture.”
The couple married in 2018 and has lived in the U.S. since. In 2022, they purchased a sprawling New Canaan estate for $10.8 million, previously owned by Paul Simon and Edie Brickell. The 32-acre property boasts six bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, a pool, and a guest cottage.

Rumors swirled that Gere intended to turn the estate into a farm, but those plans never materialized. Instead, he sold the property, pocketing a modest profit. The real reason for the move? A fresh start abroad.
