Vincent D’Onofrio, known for his intense dedication to roles, transformed dramatically for Stanley Kubrick’s Full Metal Jacket at age 24—gaining 80 pounds and shaving his head to play the troubled Leonard. The Brooklyn-born actor began on stage and worked odd jobs before his breakout role, which he credits for launching his decades-long career, including Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Daredevil, and Jurassic World.
Off-screen, D’Onofrio has three children. He has a daughter, Leila, with actress Greta Scacchi, and two sons with model Carin van der Donk, whom he married in 1997 and divorced in 2023.
