Woman eating 5,000 calories a day for four years reveals major impact it’s had on her body

A woman who’s eaten 5,000 a day for four years claims the controversial diet has ‘transformed’ her body for the better.

Like many people, Rachel Ashby, from Hertfordshire, UK, has tried several different diets over the years – ranging from keto to calorie counting.

In 2019, she was introduced to the ‘carnivore diet’, which sees a person consume a primarily meat and dairy-based diet, forging vegetables and carbohydrates.

This diet has been promoted on social media by numerous people, with many claiming it had improved their overall health.

However, some experts have expressed concern over this new diet, with one fitness coach warning about the negative impact this can have on a person in the long-term.

The NHS has also advised against consuming tons of red meat, as they claim it can increase the likelihood of bowel cancer and recommend sticking to a balanced diet including fruits and vegetables, as well as physical exercise.

Initially skeptical, Rachel decided to give the diet a try as a trial, but to her surprise, the mom claimed that she started seeing quick results, and shed seven pounds a week.

She also claims that in three days, she felt more energised and didn’t experience any brain fog.

Breaking down what her meal plan is like, Rachel says: “For breakfast, I have ten eggs with a chunk of butter and salt.

“I literally eat fat for taste, so when fat stops tasting good, that’s when I stop eating it, because that’s when my body’s had enough.

“For lunch, I have a kilo of chicken wings cooked in the air fryer, and if I feel like I need the fat, then I’ll add butter as well.

“For dinner, I often have two ribeye steaks, and if I’m particularly hungry or have had a busy day and need extra energy, I’ll have three cooked in butter.”

The mother-of-four has also slightly incorporated the diet into her kids’ lives too, saying: “My eldest works and buys her own food but my youngest son, eldest son, and youngest daughter all have moments when they are carnivores.

“They go in and out and if they go and stay around someone’s house or go to a party they might have treats from there.

“They’re all aware of where the main nutrition comes from. They just kind of sometimes decide by themselves to do it, and then other times they decide to not do it. But they always say that their health increases when they do it.”

However, Rachel claims she’s faced a lot of backlash online for her decision, largely from ‘vegans’.

She said: “I get a lot of vegans attacking me… they say, ‘you can’t be a carnivore because you don’t eat raw meat’ – I can eat it raw, I just prefer it with a sear.”

Rachel also claimed that ‘vegan nurses’ have sent her messages claiming they ‘can’t wait for me to get cancer because of the red meat’, adding: “I would’ve crumbled if someone had said that to me before, but now I just laugh, it actually makes me feel bad for these people.”

She said her relationship with food has since improved, and she now goes to the gym less than before as her ‘muscle mass has improved’.

“I never have to go hungry or feel like I need to starve myself.” she continued. “I can just eat until I’m full and satisfied, whereas before, I would ignore my body’s hunger cues.”
