Who is Susan Andrews? Get to Know the Woman Who’s Stood Beside Tucker Carlson for Three Decades

People around the world are familiar with Tucker Carlson. He has been involved in much controversy over the years, but as a political commentator, we know him most from the work that he did for Fox News.

Although he tends to spend most of his time in the spotlight, there is a part of his life that is relatively unknown. It has to do with his wife, Susan Andrews, and what she has done as she stayed in the background.

Tucker and Susan have been married for more than three decades and raised a family during the time that his career was going off the charts. This leads many people to wonder who the woman is behind the Fox News host, and you might be surprised by what you will learn.

Susan Andrews is not just the wife of a Fox News host, she is also a mother and originally, she was a high school sweetheart of Tucker Carlson. They met when they were teenagers at St. George’s school in Rhode Island.

There was also another interesting detail about St. George’s school where they met, and that is the fact that her father was the headmaster. It must’ve been at least a little bit awkward dating her.

Carlson once said that she was the cutest 10th grader in America. On the other hand, she had her own thoughts.

She said: “There was a bounce in his walk. He was in his khaki pants and ribbon belt and I thought, even then, he seemed so optimistic and positive.”

They were still in college when he proposed six months before he graduated in 1991 from Trinity. He said: “All very 19th century. But a good thing to do.”

The couple has four children together, Lillie, Buckley, Hopie, and Dorothy. For the most part, they have stayed out of the limelight but in more recent years, it has become increasingly difficult to do so.

Buckley is now entering politics and he served as deputy press secretary for Senator J.D. Vance. He is one of the only siblings in the news and most of them have stayed out of the headlines.

One thing that happened in 2018 was that protesters showed up at their home in Washington DC. Tucker was working and Susan was home alone.

He said: “I called my wife. She had been in the kitchen alone getting ready to go to dinner and she heard pounding on the front door and screaming.

“Someone started throwing himself against the front door and actually cracked the front door.”

In addition, Rev. George E. Andrews, Susan’s father was investigated for failing to report se*ual abuse in 2016. It was allegedly a teacher who was teaching during the 80s while he was serving as headmaster.

He denied any involvement and there was some scrutiny brought to the school, but Tucker and Susan were no longer anywhere near the school at the time.

In April 2023, Carlson left Fox News as a result of a number of controversies. This included a $1.6 billion lawsuit and a separate lawsuit that alleged workplace harassment.

This undoubtedly was a difficult time but Susan kept her cool and did not speak out publicly. She only appeared in family settings at the time, regardless of what her husband was going through.

Susan Andrews may not make the news as much as her husband, but she has been there for him through thick and thin.
