White House correspondent Aishah Hasnie given new duties – takes a big step forward at Fox News

Aishah Hasnie’s steady rise at Fox News just reached a new milestone, and it happened live on air.

During a Friday morning broadcast of Fox & Friends, the network briefly paused its regular programming to announce that Aishah Hasnie will officially anchor Fox News Live on weekends, marking a notable weekend lineup change and a significant step forward for the longtime correspondent.

The announcement, delivered by Ainsley Earhardt, alongside Brian Kilmeade and Griff Jenkins, immediately shifted the focus to Hasnie, a familiar and well-known face to Fox News viewers.

A New Chapter at Fox News

Hasnie will anchor Fox News Live on Saturdays from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m., bringing her reporting experience and on-camera confidence to a national weekend audience.

“I can’t wait to get out there and hit the ground running and maybe bring some hope and optimism to everybody,” Hasnie said during the live segment. “I think we need it.”

Her debut broadcast is set to include high-profile guests such as John ThuneMarty MakaryTom Cotton, and the hosts of the Ruthless.

From Overnight Anchor to Weekend Role

For longtime viewers, the promotion feels earned. Hasnie joined Fox News in 2019 and has worn many hats since — from overnight anchor in New York to congressional and senior national correspondent based in Washington, D.C.

“I was an overnight anchor just like you, Ainsley!” Hasnie reminded Earhardt during the broadcast.

Earhardt responded warmly, praising Hasnie’s trajectory at the network and noting how audiences connect with journalists they’ve watched grow over time.

“It’s always amazing for our audience,” Earhardt said. “They support us, and they love us. They watch us every day to see someone rise up in the ranks — and that’s what we’ve all done.”

Hasnie’s journey, from local news to national prominence, has been a recurring theme in coverage of her career.

What Viewers Can Expect

Asked what she plans to bring to her new show, Hasnie emphasized balance.

“There is so much news that happens over the weekend, breaking news and all the serious things,” she explained. “But we’ll also address the kitchen-table topics that people truly care about. Things that maybe we don’t normally cover.”

Her goal, she added, is simple but ambitious: for viewers to walk away smarter.

“I want people to walk away with an extra wrinkle in their brain,” Hasnie said, “and have a little nugget to chew on.”

A Moment Years in the Making

The segment ended on a light note, with Kilmeade joking about whether the show would include “swimming with sharks,” as Earhardt and Jenkins congratulated Hasnie on the promotion.

But beneath the humor was a clear message: Fox News is placing its trust in a journalist who has spent years proving herself on the campaign trail, in the halls of Congress, and now, behind the anchor desk.

For Aishah Hasnie, the on-air announcement wasn’t just a programming update. It was a visible sign that her steady climb has officially entered a new chapter, one where she’s no longer just reporting the news, but leading it.
