A Life Well Lived

William Garner, a proud Texas A&M University graduate, earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Chemical Engineering. He worked for Union Carbide throughout his career. He and his wife, Pat, shared nearly 60 years together, and he was deeply loved by their daughters—Jennifer, Susannah, and Melissa.

Heartfelt Farewell

In her tribute, Jennifer wrote, “My dad died in peace on Saturday afternoon. We were by his side, singing ‘Amazing Grace’ when he passed.”

She acknowledged that although his death wasn’t a tragedy—since he lived a full, happy life—the grief of losing him is inevitable. Jennifer expressed gratitude for her father’s “kind nature and quiet strength” and thanked the medical staff at Charleston Area Medical Center and City of Hope for their care.
