Online discussion has been sparked by videos from Ozzy Osbourne’s burial, as fans wonder why some of the rock star’s kids were not there in Birmingham, England, while his immediate family publicly grieved.
On a sombre July 30, 2025, thousands of people flocked to Birmingham, England, to say goodbye to the iconic rock artist Ozzy Osbourne.
At the celebration of life, Sharon Osbourne showed up hand in hand with her kids, Jack and Kelly. They were obviously upset, and Sharon couldn’t contain her tears as she moved.
The Black Sabbath bench was unveiled on the canal bridge in 2019 after the hearse carrying Ozzy drove through Birmingham and down Broad Street.
Aimee, Ozzy and Sharon’s oldest daughter, and Louis, their seldom seen son, were also there. As the family waved to the followers who had arrived to pay tribute to the rock and roll legend, Aimee was seen crying.

Ozzy was married to Thelma Riley from 1971 to 1982 before he married Sharon. They quickly started dating after meeting on a night out in Birmingham. In 1971, they were married in a registrar office after renting a flat together.
“I thought it was what you did: get some dough, find a chick, get married, settle down, go to the pub. It was a terrible mistake,” Ozzy wrote in his book, “I Am Ozzy.”
In the end, he acknowledged that they only remained together for the benefit of his kids, Louis and Jessica, as well as Thelma’s adopted son, Elliot.

Behind barricades, a large number of Birmingham locals and supporters could be seen standing and applauding. “Ozzy!” was even being chanted by some. There were security guards as well, and a brass band from the area played a pretty upbeat song.
It was this choice of music and the shouts from the crowd that ignited backlash online. On Facebook, one person wrote, “I don’t understand less is more. silence should have been a wonderful tribute [sic].”
Another commented, “I also think it’s also disrespectful. – Sharon is clearly mourning ozzys death and the crowd are like they are going to a concert [sic].” A third added, “The crowd should of shown a sign of respect by being silent and letting his family have this moment.”
