Donald Trump made a surprising comeback thanks to crypto
The president’s net worth has increased by an unbelievable amount since taking office for a second term.
President Trump earned his stripes as a real estate agent and businessman long before he tip-toed into politics.
Yet, his financial situation has appeared shaky at best, not just having declared bankruptcy at least four times but was looking at a $454 million fraud case this time last year against his $413 million in cash.
Therefore, New York Attorney General Letitia James even considered seizing Trump’s assets, but he somehow managed to convince the appeals court to reduce the amount to $175 million and protect his prized possessions.
Now, it has been revealed the president has made a remarkable comeback, even doubling is estimated fortune since coming to office, from $2.3 billion to $5.1 billion, reports Forbes.
As per the outlet, shortly after the court gave Trump an extended grace, he made his social media venture, Truth Social’s parent company, public, which made ‘a few million in revenue’ thanks to some Trump-supporting investors.
Though this provided a boost to his net worth, Trump also got busy flogging other items, like Bibles, guitars and shoes, until he hit gold with crypto.
Trump launched World Liberty Financial, a crypto business, with his sons which banked him roughly around $245 million after tax.
Then just days before his inauguration for a second term in the Oval Office, Trump revealed his $TRUMP, a digital token ‘meme coin’ which Forbes say is ‘safe to assume’ he gained ‘at least’ another $110 million after tax.
Reacting to the revelation of Trump’s apparent crypto success on social media, dozens have raised the ethics of his ventures.
“People being allowed to give unlimited and untraceable money to the president really is a cool story,” penned one on Twitter.
A second jibed: “But don’t worry he doesn’t take a salary while president. So its all okay!”
Others also pointed out the figures come as White House press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, recently said in a press conference that the president ‘doesn’t want to see people like Nancy Pelosi enriching themselves off of public service and ripping off their constituents in the process.’
The dig came as former House Speaker Pelosi has been accused by the POTUS of accruing her wealth through ‘inside information’ in stock trading.
“The reason that this idea to put a ban on stock trading for members of Congress is even a thing is because of Nancy Pelosi,” Leavitt continued. “I mean, she is rightfully criticized because she makes $174,000 a year. Yet she has a net worth of approximately $413 million. In 2024, Nancy Pelosi’s stock portfolio — this was a fascinating statistic to me — grew 70 percent in one year in 2024.”
