Two Weeks After His Sister’s Passing, Jack Schlossberg Resumes Campaigning

Jack Schlossberg Honors Sister at Nurses Rally

Jack Schlossberg returned to the campaign trail yesterday, channeling the spirit of his late sister, Tatiana Schlossberg. At a rally for the New York State Nurses Association (NYSNA), he echoed her words: “Nurses should rule the world.”

Remembering Tatiana’s Powerful Message

Just a month before her passing, Tatiana wrote a moving essay for The New Yorker about her battle with terminal acute myeloid leukemia. She praised nurses, writing, “I have never encountered a group of people who are more competent, more full of grace and empathy, more willing to serve others than nurses. Nurses should take over.”

Standing with 15,000 Striking Nurses

Yesterday, around 15,000 nurses from New York City’s top hospitals went on strike. They demanded safe staffing ratios, higher wages, and better security. Schlossberg joined the rally to support their cause. Mayor Zohran Mamdani also spoke to the striking nurses on the picket line.

Advocating for Fair Contracts and Workers’ Rights

“Proud to stand with @nynurses today,” Schlossberg wrote on Instagram. “Nurses deserve more than our thanks — they deserve a fair contract, safe working conditions, and healthcare benefits.” He added, “Unions are the backbone of the Democratic Party. I’ll never forget that. I’m running for Congress to make sure nurses and working people across our city and our country get a fair shot.”

Campaigning for New York’s 12th District

Schlossberg announced his candidacy for New York’s 12th congressional district last November. “This district should have a representative who can harness the creativity, energy, and drive of this district and translate that into political power in Washington,” he said. “I’m not running because I have all the answers. I’m running because the people of New York 12 do.”
