Twins who went on separate vegan and meat diets reveal shocking results of new plant-based vs animal-based study

Twins Ross and Hugo Turner are at it again, and they’ve revealed the results of their latest study.

The brothers have become famous for doing health studies, with one of their most well-known being when the embarked on separate meat and vegan diets to see how it impacted their bodies.

Speaking to UNILAD, Hugo, who did the vegan side of the study, revealed what the hardest moment for him over the 12 weeks was.

“I got so annoyed one day about being vegan,” he recalled. “I said, ‘Right, I’m just gonna go buy garlic bread, and that’s it’. I came back, and then a friend was like, ‘It’s got butter in’.”

An understandably devastated Hugo then ‘literally threw [the bread] across the room’ upon realizing that he was unable to eat it on a vegan diet.

Now, Hugo and Ross have done another animal vs plant-based challenge, and this time, it’s to do with vitamins. Instead of doing it for 12 weeks, the brothers did it for six months.

In this instance, Hugo took the plant-based vitamins (from Vivo Life) while Ross took the equivalent animal-based products. Hugo’s vitamins were in a liquid form, while Ross’s were in tablet form.

Half way through their six-month study, the brothers noticed ‘slight differences’, but when it came to completing the full six months, the results were very clear.

“At the end of six months, the blood tests showed the positive benefits of using plant-based supplements, particularly with Hugo’s improved Omega-3 index and a big increase in his D3 levels,” Ross explained in a new video shared to Instagram.

This vitamin-focused study won’t be the last Hugo and Ross will be doing, as they recently let UNILAD readers decide their next challenge.

People were given three options to choose from in an online poll: fasting vs non-fasting, 1 vs 12 rep workouts, and ab simulation pads vs sit ups.

It was later revealed that Hugo and Ross will take on fasting vs non-fasting diets to see how it impacts their bodies.

Speaking to UNILAD about the decision, the pair said: “We’re excited to start our next 12-week fitness study — fasting v non-fasting — because like all of our other studies, we discover something new in the results that others can apply into their daily lives.”

The Turner twins hope to get the ball rolling on the new fitness study in the near future.
