Trump’s Oval Office Transformation
The Oval Office has been reimagined following President Donald Trump’s return to the White House, featuring a familiar and quirky touch—the Diet Coke button. This small red button, housed in a wooden box, became iconic during Trump’s first term, as it summoned his favorite soda to his desk.
The Return of the Diet Coke Button
The button resurfaced on Monday after Trump’s second inauguration, according to The Wall Street Journal. Removed during President Joe Biden’s tenure, its reappearance signals Trump’s signature style returning to the Oval Office. When pressed, the button alerts White House butlers to bring Trump his Diet Coke, a staple in his diet. In 2017, Trump joked, “Everyone gets a little anxious when I press that button.”

Oval Office Redecorated
As tradition dictates, the Oval Office was revamped to match Trump’s preferences. Staff replaced the rugs, drapes, and decor on Inauguration Day to reflect Trump’s taste. Key features include portraits of George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, and Alexander Hamilton. The Diet Coke button also made a prominent return.
Familiar and New Elements
While some decor remains unchanged, like the gold curtains Trump selected during his first term, other items were swapped. Biden’s blue rug has been replaced by the neutral-toned one from Trump’s earlier term. On the coffee table, chocolate chip cookies are replaced by a bouquet and a gold paperweight embossed with “Trump.” Silver eagle figures now sit on the mantel, adding another personal touch.
A Unique Symbol of Trump’s Presidency
The Diet Coke button has quickly become a talking point, symbolizing Trump’s distinct leadership style. As he settles back into office, Trump brings both tradition and personal flair to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
