Trump’s new mobile phone service is raising concerns, with many calling it a potential scam

Trump’s New Smartphone Faces Backlash: Users Call It a “Scam”

A Bold Launch Sparks Controversy

Donald Trump’s latest venture — a self-branded smartphone and mobile service — is under fire. While the idea of a Trump-backed phone intrigued many, early adopters are now speaking out, calling the experience a “scam.”

As soon as the former president and real estate mogul announced his new device, curiosity took over. Supporters and skeptics alike flocked to the site to learn more — and some even pre-ordered.

Promises of “America First” Technology

Trump Mobile, run by Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump under the Trump Organization umbrella, markets itself as a phone “for real Americans.” The flagship model, the gold-colored T1 Phone, is set to release in August for $499, alongside a $47.45 monthly plan.

With U.S.-based support centers and domestic manufacturing, the brand aims to put “America First.”

“Trump Mobile is going to change the game,” Trump Jr. told The Independent.
“We’re delivering the highest levels of quality and service — all based here in the United States.”

Reality Hits: Glitches, Charges, and Criticism

Despite the bold promises, users report serious issues. On Reddit, a frustrated customer posted:

“I tried pre-ordering the Trump Phone. The page failed and it charged my credit card the wrong amount.”

This wasn’t an isolated case. Others flagged privacy concerns and questioned the motives behind the product.

“Watch him sell it like ‘you’ll have a direct line to the president,’” one user joked.
“They’ll force text messages on supporters. Feels like a privacy nightmare.”

Is It Really a Trump Product?

In response to the outrage, some users pointed out fine print on the company’s website. The disclaimer clarifies that the phone is not actually developed or sold by The Trump Organization.

“Trump Mobile, its products and services are not designed, developed, manufactured, distributed or sold by The Trump Organization,” it reads.
“T1 Mobile LLC uses the ‘Trump’ name under a limited license agreement.”

So while the Trump name is front and center, the connection appears to be more branding than ownership.

Final Thoughts

The Trump Phone promised patriotic flair and pro-America service. Instead, it’s facing claims of being overpriced, glitchy, and ethically questionable. Whether it’s a genuine misstep or a money-making gimmick, the internet isn’t holding back.

Would you try it out — or is this one call you’d rather not answer?
