Trump Says Obama Won Nobel Peace Prize For Doing Nothing

President Donald Trump claimed that Barack Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize for doing nothing but destroying the nation. The comments came just a day after Trump lost his own bid for the award.

At a press conference, Trump said that Obama was given the prize years ago even though he had done little to earn it. He said he found it strange that Obama got praised for his time in office while he himself ended wars and still received no recognition.

Obama’s Nobel Prize was awarded sixteen years ago, only eight months after he took office. At that time, the decision surprised many and was described by some as premature, with people saying the standard for the award should have been higher.

Trump spoke to reporters in the Oval Office on Thursday while discussing an upcoming trip to Europe for a peace agreement signing. He said: “I have stopped eight wars, so that has never happened before, but they will do what they need to do.”

He added that it was fine if he did not win. Trump said: “I did this because I saved so many lives.” He explained that his main goal was to protect the country and end unnecessary conflict, not to chase awards.

The remarks quickly sparked reactions online. Many people debated whether Trump’s claim had merit or if it was just another example of his frustration with the media and the establishment.
