Trump Responds as Minneapolis School Sh**ting Injures Up to 20

Donald Trump issued a statement after a school sh**ting in Minneapolis left up to 20 people injured. The incident took place at Annunciation Catholic School on August 27, during students’ first week back after summer break.

Images from W 54th Street, between Lyndale and Nicollet Avenue, showed the area cordoned off by emergency responders.

Shooting Details

Two federal law enforcement sources told CBS News that as many as 20 people were hurt. The sh**ter, described as a man dressed in all black, carried a rifle. Local police confirmed to BBC News that there is no longer an active gunman.

The City of Minneapolis labeled the situation as an “active police situation” but reassured residents:

“There is no active thr**t to the community at this time. The g*nman is contained.”

The school remains an active crime scene.

Trump’s Statement

On Truth Social, Trump said he had been fully briefed on the sh**ting. He added:

“The FBI quickly responded and they are on the scene. The White House will continue to monitor this terrible situation. Please join me in praying for everyone involved.”

State and Federal Response

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz confirmed that state patrol authorities are on-site. The FBI and other federal agencies are also responding.

Governor Walz posted on X (formerly Twitter):

“I’m praying for our kids and teachers whose first week of school was marred by this horrific act of vi*lence.”

Senator Tina Smith condemned the a**ack:

“I’m grateful for the quick response of law enforcement as we continue to gather information. These kids should not be fearing for their lives.”

US Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem described the shooting as “horrific” and confirmed that DHS is monitoring the situation.

Family Reunification Zone

Authorities set up a family reunification area at 525 W. 54th Street. The Minneapolis Police Department advised:

“The public is advised to stay away from the area to allow emergency personnel to help victims. Families of children at the school can go to the reunification zone at the Annunciation School.”

Motive Unknown

At the time of writing, authorities have not confirmed a motive for the sh**ting. Investigations are ongoing.
