The controversy surrounding Donald Trump is not only associated with his presidency. It also has to do with his family life, and there are plenty of conspiracy theories that tend to fly every time they are seen in public.
Recently, Donald Trump went a different direction during a Mother’s Day celebration for military families. The celebration was being held in the East Room of the White House, and Trump opened up about the women who were the most important to him in his life.
In a heartfelt tribute, he spoke very highly of his wife, First Lady Melania Trump. He also spoke about on another woman who was very important to him, his late mother, Mary Anne MacLeod Trump.
The East room of the White House was filled with military moms, and Trump was smiling as he applauded the devotion of his wife to their 19-year-old son, Barron.
In his brief speech, Trump said: “I especially want to thank one of the best moms that I know, that I’ve ever seen. Sometimes she’s almost too good.
“She is so good with Barron, but he’s grown up strong and nice. He’s a good boy. He’s a good student.”
In speaking of his late mother, Mary who passed away in 2000, Trump shared: “So I want to thank you, you’ve done a good job. I had a great mother, She was such an angel.
“She could be very tough, I will say. She had her tough moments, some difficult moments she had. But overall very, very good, I would tell you, a great one.”
Melania Trump also stood at the podium and spoke to the audience about how being a mother brings many emotional challenges. This is particularly true for being the parent of a teenager.
She said: “Motherhood. The life-changing events that makes women invincible and exposed at the same time.
“It’s remarkable, really, that my son’s life creates unimaginable, unpredictable concerns and triggers for me, even until this day.
“All caring mothers understand this rare feeling, nothing against fathers. But in my opinion, and I’m sure everyone in this room agrees, only a mother can grasp this particular point.”
She also spoke about the sacrifices made by military mothers and urged them to take care of themselves.
“For your strength is the bedrock of a brighter future for our children. By caring for ourselves, we empower the next generation to thrive together.”
