Trump ignites outrage after slamming ‘woke’ museum for teaching people ‘how bad slavery was’

President of the United States Donald Trump has sparked major outrage online following his latest scathing comments about ‘woke’ museums that teach ‘how bad slavery was’.

As we know, Trump has been no stranger to calling out the Smithsonian Institute, with the museum’s secretary Lonnie Bunch III recently receiving a letter from Trump officials informing him that a review process would soon be underway, in line with the Republican’s ‘Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History’ executive order.

Such a move has been slammed as the government attempting to ‘rewrite history’, with the official letter reading: “This initiative aims to ensure alignment with the president’s directive to celebrate American exceptionalism, remove divisive or partisan narratives, and restore confidence in our shared cultural institutions.”

It also claimed that bringing ‘historically accurate, uplifting, and inclusive portrayals of America’s heritage’ to the forefront is essential.

Also set to be internally reviewed in the coming weeks are the National Museums of American History, Natural History, African American History and Culture, and American Indian, and the National Air and Space Museum.

And, in his latest social media rant, the 79-year-old Republican penned on Truth Social: “The Museums throughout Washington, but all over the Country are, essentially, the last remaining segment of ‘WOKE.’

“The Smithsonian is OUT OF CONTROL, where everything discussed is how horrible our Country is, how bad Slavery was, and how unaccomplished the downtrodden have been — Nothing about Success, nothing about Brightness, nothing about the Future.”

Trump went on to declare: “We are not going to allow this to happen, and I have instructed my attorneys to go through the Museums, and start the exact same process that has been done with Colleges and Universities where tremendous progress has been made.”

He went on to round off the seriously shocking post, concluding: “This Country cannot be WOKE, because WOKE IS BROKE. We have the ‘HOTTEST’ Country in the World, and we want people to talk about it, including in our Museums.”

One social media explained: “Should teach that it happened. Should teach why it happened. And should teach why it was stopped and who stopped it.”

As a second lamented: “Denying our history is a sure-fire way to reliving it. The South built its economy on the backs of slaves.”

“A message for Trump: you cannot erase testimonies of the horror of slavery. Your administration shall be remembered as one of the worst,” declared a third.

“Can’t make this s**t up,” slammed a fourth, while a fifth hit out: “He’s such an embarrassing f*cking idiot.”

Many pointed out that museums, which are all to do with shining a light on the past, aren’t exactly known for putting on exhibitions all about the future.

“He is mad that a museum doesn’t tell us about the future. A **MUSEUM**,” pointed out a seventh while an eighth pointed out: “They are museums, they show the past. Why would they talk about the future?”

And another wondered: “Why does he tweet like he’s Gossip Girl??? We want people to talk about how hot our country is?? So close, we want healthcare actually!”

The Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History reports that throughout the Atlantic Slave Trade, from approximately 1526 to 1867, some 12.5 million captured men, women, and children were put on ships in Africa, and 10.7 million arrived in the Americas.

The Atlantic Slave Trade was likely the most costly in human life of all long-distance global migrations.

Though Congress outlawed the African slave trade in 1808, the domestic slave trade flourished, and the enslaved population in the US nearly tripled over the next fifty years.
