Todd Piro: Fox News morning star, proud girl dad — and happily married as he celebrates 10th anniversary

He’s sharp at sunrise, quick with a one-liner on Gutfeld!, and a staple of FOX & Friends First before most people have even brewed their coffee. But for Todd Piro, the most important title doesn’t come with a news desk. It comes with a diaper bag.

The Fox News anchor isn’t just building a career in broadcast journalism. He’s building a life with his wife Amanda and their two daughters. And while Piro’s professional path is impressive, it’s his grounded family life that really sets him apart.

From Law to Live TV

Piro’s journey started far from the newsroom. After graduating magna cum laude from Dartmouth College and earning a law degree from UCLA, he practiced for five years at a major firm in Los Angeles. But even in the courtroom, his heart leaned toward storytelling.

He made the leap into journalism, working first in Palm Springs at KPSP Local 2 and later at NBC Connecticut, where he anchored Today and guest-hosted national NBC programs like First Look and The Place for Politics.

In 2017, he joined Fox News and never looked back.

A Voice Viewers Trust

Now co-hosting FOX & Friends First with Carley Shimkus, Piro has become a go-to early morning anchor. He also contributes to FOX & FriendsGutfeld!Outnumbered, and Varney & Co., juggling serious headlines with light moments that keep viewers coming back.

He’s covered everything from the 2020 Presidential Election to the Sandy Hook school shooting, all with clarity and poise. And yes, he does it all without hitting the snooze button.

“I never hit snooze,” he told Dana Perino. “I manage my schedule like a baseball bullpen — push when I can, recover when I need to, and always bring the coffee.”

Husband First, Anchor Second

While Piro’s career is national, his heart is anchored at home.

He’s married to Amanda Raus, a fellow journalist and weekend anchor at ABC affiliate WTNH in Connecticut. The couple share two daughters, including Alexis, born on Father’s Day 2022, a moment Piro called “the best gift I could ever receive.”

Recently, he marked a major milestone with Amanda on Instagram, posting a heart-melting anniversary tribute:

“10 years my love! And you still look as radiant as you did that day!!! Happy Anniversary!!!”

His return to Fox after paternity leave was welcomed by co-hosts and fans alike, but Piro admits being a dad has changed everything.

“Even the worst days with kids I know I’ll want those days back when they’re grown,” he said. “I try to live in the moment now more than ever.”

Despite an earlier marriage that ended in divorce, Piro’s bond with Amanda, and their growing family, is clearly the foundation of his life today.

Smart, Funny, and a Little Sentimental

When he’s not anchoring or changing diapers, Piro leans into dad jokes and Coldplay concerts (yes, he says their 2017 show in Foxborough was the best he’s ever seen). He’s a firm believer that Michael Jordan is the GOAT. And if he could host a dream dinner, the guest list would include Washington, Lincoln, and Reagan, with fried chicken, mac & cheese, and mint chocolate chip ice cream for dessert.

He’s also fiercely loyal to his advice for young dreamers:

“If you want to try something, do it while you’re young. Once the kids come around, everything changes, in the best way.”

A Newsman With His Priorities Straight

Todd Piro may be part of one of the most-watched morning news teams on television. But what makes him stand out isn’t just his journalism. It’s the authenticity behind it. He’s the dad who gets real about parenthood, the husband who beams when talking about his wife, and the guy who still believes in mint chocolate chip ice cream and Coldplay.

He’s proof that you can chase big dreams and still make it home for bedtime or at least for the morning bottle.
