A Disturbing Discovery
This morning, I noticed a pinkish mass oozing from a crack on my kitchen wall. I froze instantly. The strange substance looked both terrifying and disgusting.

Since I rent the apartment, I called the landlord right away. He arrived within thirty minutes. He glanced at the mass, seemed irritated, and said calmly, “It’s just old insulating foam. Nothing to worry about.” He wiped some off with a tissue, put on gloves, and left quickly.

Hours later, the biologist called back. He said it looked like a fungal colony with mycelium or possibly parasitic insects living in the insulation. He explained such growth is common in tropical or poorly ventilated spaces. It might have been growing for years. If untreated, it could seriously harm respiratory health.
