‘The View’ Hosts In Hot Water After ABC Gives Them This Warning

Tensions at ABC’s “The View”

Behind the scenes at ABC’s The View, tensions are rising. Co-hosts are reportedly under pressure to tone down their criticisms of President Trump as ABC faces staff layoffs. This shift comes amid a broader restructuring effort by ABC’s parent company, Disney.

Pressure to Ease Criticism of Trump

Executive producer Brian Teta has asked the panel—Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin, and Ana Navarro—to be more cautious when discussing the 47th president. This request surfaced in the weeks before Trump’s inauguration, signaling a change in ABC’s approach to political discourse.

Despite attracting 2.6 million viewers in the past month, the mood backstage is tense. At least nine staff members, including senior producers Jamie Hammer and Audrey Jones, were laid off as part of a cost-cutting initiative. Insiders describe the layoffs as “shocking,” and morale has dropped, with employees fearing further cuts.

Uncertainty Among the Staff

There’s a palpable sense of unease behind the scenes. Staff members worry about additional firings as ABC, under Disney’s direction, has been cutting jobs since last October.

Tensions Over Studio Space

On top of political strains, the co-hosts are unhappy with their new studio setup at Hudson Square. Since relocating, they now share studio space with The Tamron Hall Show, creating conflicts over dressing rooms and taping schedules.

Some insiders report frustrations, particularly over the sharing of dressing areas with Hall’s guests. The scheduling conflicts have caused headaches, as both shows vie for studio time. One source claimed, “Tamron Hall thinks she’s Oprah,” but emphasized that The View remains the network’s priority.

Despite these challenges, another source praised both teams for managing the situation cooperatively.

Staff Frustration with Relocation

The move to Hudson Square hasn’t just bothered the co-hosts; staff members are also frustrated. They face cramped workspaces, limited office supplies, and challenging commutes through congested streets near the Holland Tunnel.

One insider described the new office as “basic at best,” citing inadequate space and a lack of privacy. However, a network spokesperson defended the space, calling it “gorgeous” and claiming there are “plenty of desks.”

Shifting Views on Trump

With job security at risk, The View co-hosts are reassessing their approach to Trump discussions. Recently, Sara Haines admitted feeling out of touch with the audience because she and her co-hosts did not support Trump.

Alyssa Farah Griffin, a former Trump ally who later endorsed Kamala Harris, recently clashed with Whoopi Goldberg about engaging with conservative voters. “Democrats have to be willing to go to uncomfortable spaces,” Griffin said, acknowledging agreement with some of Trump’s policies.

A Crossroads for “The View”

The View stands at a crossroads. Will it maintain its historically aggressive stance against Trump, or will ABC’s internal shake-ups change the show’s tone? One thing is certain—the drama continues both on and off the air.
