Cooking rice may seem simple, but using broth and aromatics can elevate it from ordinary to extraordinary. Start with 1 cup of rice and 2 cups of broth (chicken, vegetable, or beef). Rinse the rice to remove excess starch. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil or butter in a pot, sauté 1 small chopped onion and 1-2 minced garlic cloves until fragrant. Add bay leaves or fresh herbs for extra flavor. Toast the rinsed rice for 2-3 minutes, then add the broth. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes. Let it rest for 5 minutes before fluffing. The result is perfectly fluffy, flavorful rice!
