Obama Praised Drake — Now the Rapper Parties with His Daughters
A few years after Barack Obama declared Drake “able to do anything he wants,” the Canadian rapper was spotted partying with Obama’s two daughters.
Wild Night at a Hollywood Hotspot
At The Bird Streets Club in Los Angeles, Malia and Sasha Obama joined Drake for a late-night party. The sisters showed off daring looks — Sasha flaunted her midriff in a black cropped corset with cargo pants, while Malia wore a sheer lace-up top with high-waisted printed trousers. Both dazzled with jewelry and styled hair.
According to reports, the group partied until 4 a.m. before heading off together in a car.
Growing Up in the Spotlight
Life inside the White House wasn’t easy. Malia, born July 4, 1998, and Sasha, born June 10, 2001, grew up under intense public attention from 2009 to 2017.
“They were watched constantly,” Michelle Obama shared on the Moments that Make Us podcast. “They had to balance that attention while learning to be independent.”
The former first lady added, “I raised them knowing they wouldn’t stay with me forever. I wanted to hand them their lives and let them manage it.”
Malia’s Path
In 2014, Barack Obama admitted he felt emotional seeing Malia get ready for prom: “Seeing your daughter in heels is jarring,” he told Live with Kelly & Michael.
After finishing high school in 2016, Malia took a gap year, working as a production assistant on Extant and later writing for Amazon’s Swarm. She graduated from Harvard in 2021. In 2024, under the name Malia Ann, she debuted her short film Heart at Sundance.
Sasha’s Journey
Barack once described Sasha as the “comedian” of the family. After graduating high school in 2019, Sasha attended the University of Michigan, learning remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic. She later transferred and earned a sociology degree from USC in 2023.
Today, the sisters share a home in Los Angeles. Michelle proudly remarked, “It feels good knowing the girls find solace at a kitchen table with each other.”
Drake’s Bond with the Obamas
Drake’s admiration for the Obamas runs deep. Back in 2010, he said he hoped to play Barack in a biopic. By 2020, the former president gave his approval: “Drake can do anything he wants,” Barack said, adding that his daughters would be fine with Drake portraying him.
