The Kelly Clarkson Show Expected To Air Final Season, Sources Say

It may be the beginning of the end for The Kelly Clarkson Show, as multiple sources suggest the popular daytime series could wrap up after the current season.

Insiders tell Page Six that host Kelly Clarkson is expected to step away from the talk show once this season concludes. One source described her departure from daytime television as “definite,” while another said it’s “likely that it will not go on.”

According to one insider, the demands of hosting a daily talk show may no longer be sustainable. “ 𝐻 𝑒 𝑟 𝑠 ℎ 𝑜 𝑤 Hershow is a lot to put on, and looking at the landscape across daytime television, it’s not sustainable anymore,” the source said, pointing to broader challenges facing the genre.

Speculation about Clarkson’s future in daytime TV has been circulating for more than a year. Last year, rumors surfaced that former Today anchor Hoda Kotb could potentially replace Clarkson following Kotb’s exit from NBC’s flagship morning program. At the time, insiders claimed that NBC executives were quietly discussing a shortlist of possible successors as Clarkson reportedly explored her own exit.

However, not everyone agrees the show’s fate is sealed. Another insider cautioned that no official decision has been made, despite the chatter. “People are jumping the gun. Nothing is definite yet, and it’s still a long season,” the source said, adding that conversations about the show’s future are ongoing behind the scenes.

Multiple sources previously told Page Six that Clarkson had been planning to leave when her contract expires this year. During that period, viewers noticed her absence from the show, which was later linked to deeply personal circumstances. Clarkson had stepped away to care for her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, who died in August at age 48 after a private battle with melanoma.

Clarkson and Blackstock divorced in 2022 after nearly ten years of marriage. They share two children: River Rose, 11, and Remington “Remy” Alexander, 9. Since Blackstock’s passing, sources say Clarkson has shifted her focus toward parenting and helping her children navigate their loss.

The singer recently opened up about family life during a fan Q&A session, revealing that bedtime has become her favorite part of the day. “There’s been a lot for our family recently, and so I have allowed my kids to sleep with me quite a bit. So it’s my two dogs, my kids and me. It’s a lot,” she shared.

“It’s been really special, though. The conversations you have during that time are pretty cute. So that’s probably my favorite time of day,” Clarkson added, offering a glimpse into her priorities outside of television.

Despite the mounting speculation, neither Clarkson nor representatives for her show have commented publicly on the reports. For now, fans are left watching closely, as one of daytime TV’s most successful modern talk shows may be approaching its final chapter.
