Paris Hilton Claps Back at Cruel Comments About Her Baby
Paris Hilton recently spoke out after receiving harsh criticism over a photo of her 8-month-old son, Phoenix Barron. In a candid Instagram message, the 42-year-old star called the remarks “unacceptable,” especially when aimed at an innocent child.
Joyful Moment Turns Sour
On October 19, Hilton shared several photos of Phoenix’s first trip to New York City. What should have been a sweet milestone quickly turned sour. Some commenters made cruel remarks about Phoenix’s appearance. One TikTok user even compiled the negativity, prompting Hilton to defend her son. She assured followers her “angel is perfectly healthy” and “just has a large brain.”
“Targeting My Child Is Unacceptable”
In a follow-up Instagram Story, Hilton opened up further. “Living life in the spotlight, comments are inevitable,” she wrote. “But targeting my child—or anyone’s child—is unacceptable.” She admitted the experience broke her heart.
“I’ve worked hard to build a space filled with love and acceptance,” she continued. “I expect that same respect in return.”

Damned If She Does, Damned If She Doesn’t
Hilton addressed the double standards she faces as a public mom. “If I don’t post my baby, people assume I’m not a good mother,” she said. “If I do, others feel entitled to judge him.”
Still, she described Phoenix as her “adorable, healthy, and angelic” blessing. “I’ve dreamed of being a mom for as long as I can remember,” she added. “He reminds me every day of what truly matters.”
A Call for Kindness
Hilton ended her message with a plea for empathy. “It’s hard to understand how anyone could target such innocence,” she wrote. “I hope we can all show a little more compassion.”
Family by Her Side
Hilton and husband Carter Reum welcomed Phoenix via surrogate on January 16. She introduced him days later with a sweet photo holding his tiny hand, writing, “You are already loved beyond words .”
She also shared with PEOPLE that her parents, Kathy and Rick Hilton, are “absolutely obsessed” with Phoenix. Her sister Nicky and her mom regularly offer parenting support. “I feel incredibly lucky to be so close with my family,” Hilton said.
Focused on What Matters
Despite the noise, Hilton stays focused on protecting her son and creating a home full of love. She continues to embrace motherhood—on her own terms.
