‘The Dark Knight Rises’ Star Passed Away At 60

Israeli actor Alon Aboutboul is probably best known for his role as Russian nuclear physicist Dr Pavel in Christopher Nolan’s film The Dark Knight Rises, but he has also acted in numerous other projects including TV series like Homeland, NCIS: Los Angeles, Snowfall and Law & Order: SVU, as well as movies like Munich and Body of Lies. He has even performed on stage in a production of Hamlet for the Habima Theater.

While the actor’s career really took off starting in 1980, now, at the age of 60, it has come to a screeching halt. Sadly, the actor has passed away.

The Mirror reports that Aboutboul was at HaBonim Beach in Tel Aviv on July 29th when he “c*llapsed on a beach.” He was “pulled from the water conscious, but c*llapsed shortly after reaching the shore.” A cause of d**th has not yet been reported, but he allegedly complained about not feeling well prior to collapsing. When paramedics arrived, they tried to resuscitate Aboutboul, but their attempts were not successful.

Upon hearing the news of the actor’s d**th, Culture and Sport Minister Miki Zohar shared touching words in his honor. He stated, “I was deeply pained to hear of his sudden d**th. Last night I watched an interview with him, where he talked about filming a movie he recently participated in, and the passion for the profession that radiated from him was evident even after so many years in the field.”

Zohar added, “Alon was an Ophir Award and Television Academy Award winner and over the years portrayed a wide range of characters to which he brought depth and emotion, leaving a deep mark on Israeli culture. May his memory be blessed.”
