Texas School Bus Overturns, 10 Hospitalized
A Texas school bus carrying 42 students and their driver rolled over on a rural road earlier this week, sending ten people to the hospital, including nine children.
Cr*sh Details
The incident occurred just outside Austin, Texas, shortly after school ended on Wednesday, before any students had been dropped off. Kevin Parker, assistant chief with Austin-Travis County Medical Emergency Services, said one injury was life-thr**tening, and two others were potentially life-thr**tening.
Cause Still Unknown
Bruce Gerring of the Leader Independent School District told NBC that the cause remains unclear. The 2024-model bus veered to the right side of the road before rolling over. Texas Department of Public Safety officials noted a slight curve in the road, but it is still uncertain how many students were wearing seatbelts.
Gerring emphasized, “We want each of those students and their families to know that our prayers are with them. We will do everything in our power to support them.”
Scene of the Crash
Video footage showed the yellow bus lying on its side next to the road. Its roof was damaged, and several windows were broken.
Recovery and Investigation
A district update confirmed that all hospitalized individuals have since been released. Meanwhile, Texas DPS continues to investigate the cr*sh.
