A ten-year-old boy named Collier got to live out a wild moment when Foo Fighters brought him onstage in Kansas City. Dave Grohl handed him a guitar and asked him to play Enter Sandman and the kid just went for it like he had been waiting his whole life.
Grohl did his best James Hetfield-style singing while Collier played the main riffs. Taylor Hawkins jumped in on the drums and hit that familiar beat that pretty much everyone knows from the song, and the whole thing felt loud and fun and a little chaotic in the best way.

Grohl kept the moment going and told him to try a couple of other Metallica songs. So Collier tried the intros to Welcome Home Sanitarium and Wherever I May Roam and it did not feel like he was nervous about any of it because he just kept playing.
Fans later said the whole thing hit a little harder because it happened only a few years before Hawkins was found dead in his hotel room while the band was on tour in Colombia. The old video now has around 11 million views, and people still comment on it.
Foo Fighters have done this kind of thing before with kids who love music. There is another video where they play Everlong with Nandi Bushell, who was 11 at the time. That video has passed 12 million views, which shows people like seeing these moments.

Grohl has talked about Metallica plenty over the years and said in an interview: “There’s a lot of people I’d love to play with. I have my fantasy bands, I’m just waiting for Metallica to call. I love being a drummer, cos to me I’m a drummer who’s pretending to be a singer songwriter.”
Enter Sandman was an easy song for them to choose since it is still Metallica’s biggest hit and it crossed a billion streams on Spotify. It was the lead single from their 1991 album and helped push the record to a huge certification in the US so most people know it right away when it starts.
