Strange Explanation For Donald Trump’s Restriction From Driving The Tesla He Recently Purchased From Elon Musk

This week, Donald Trump proudly acquired a Tesla, but despite being one of the most powerful men in the world, he lacks the ability to operate the vehicle.

I’m not taking it literally; as far as we know, Trump is able to operate a vehicle; he’s simply not permitted to do so in this specific vehicle.

The POTUS’ latest acquisition coincided with a period when Tesla is having financial difficulties and several Telsa models were sent to the White House for exhibition in the midst of Trump’s continued partnership with Musk.

Trump accuses ‘the Radical Left Lunatics’ of ‘trying to criminally and collusively boycott Tesla’ on his social media platform, Truth Social, as the electric carmaker’s value has fallen by half in only three months.

Why has Trump bought a Tesla?

Trump continued to refer to Tesla as Musk’s “baby” in his Truth Social post, adding that he intended to purchase one of the vehicles as a gesture of support for Musk in the face of the purported “boycott.”

He wrote: “In any event, I’m going to buy a brand new Tesla tomorrow morning as a show of confidence and support for Elon Musk, a truly great American. Why should he be punished for putting his tremendous skills to work in order to help MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN???”

After deciding on a bright red Model S as his preferred Tesla, the president sat down inside the vehicle to examine every function.

Why can’t Trump drive the Tesla?

Despite Trump’s declaration that the car was “beautiful,” a restriction prohibiting US presidents from driving their own vehicles will keep him from actually driving it down the streets.

The president admitted he was aware of this rule when he bought the car, telling reporters: “I’m gonna buy one, now here’s the bad news. I’m not allowed to drive. I haven’t driven a car in a long time. And I love to drive cars […]”

“I’m not allowed to use it. Can you believe it?”

Why aren’t presidents allowed to drive?

The US Secret Service enforces a rule that prohibits presidents from driving on public highways for their protection, which is the basis for Trump’s limitations.

The Former Presidents Act makes sure that former presidents have protection even after they leave office, including a designated driver, so they won’t have to drive themselves and risk injury.

Lyndon B. Johnson, the US president from 1963 to 1969, was the last to drive on public highways. ‘Evasive and defensive driving methods’ are being taught to Secret Service personnel who accompany presidents on their travels, according to CNBC.

Are there any exceptions to the driving rule?

On private property, presidents are allowed to drive their cars. Trump is one of the presidents who has been spotted using a golf cart.

So, what will Trump do with his Tesla?

The president has stated that he will retain his new Tesla at the White House and “let [his] staff use it” because he is unable to drive it personally.

“I’m gonna let people at the place use it,” he told reporters, adding, “They all are all excited about that.”
