Mitchell’s family shared the heartbreaking news on X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram, expressing their condolences over the loss of a cherished father, husband, brother, uncle, and friend.
In a statement, the family acknowledged Mitchell’s diverse acting career, spanning roles as an Olympic hopeful, apocalypse survivor, astronaut, superhero’s father, and four distinctive Star Trek characters. Yet, they emphasized that his most cherished role was that of a family man. As a devoted husband to his wife, Susan, and a proud father to Lilah and Kallum, Mitchell found immeasurable joy in family life.
