Donald Trump’s Health: Official Reports vs. New Dementia Claims
Donald Trump’s health has sparked debate for years. Officially, he’s claimed to be in excellent shape. Yet recent concerns continue to surface. Some rumors even suggest he might be wearing a catheter. Now, a doctor has gone further, claiming Trump shows signs of dementia.
Official Medical Report: Trump Declared Fit for Office
Trump holds the record as the oldest U.S. president to start a second term. Despite doubts about his fitness, White House physician Dr. Sean Barbabella reported in April that Trump remains fully capable as Commander-in-Chief.
Barbabella’s report noted Trump’s height (75 inches) and weight (224 pounds). Routine scans of his eyes, ears, neck, throat, and heart showed no issues. In 2024, Trump underwent a colonoscopy revealing a benign polyp and diverticulitis. A follow-up colonoscopy is scheduled in three years.
The report also lists several prescriptions, including medication for cholesterol, cardiac prevention, and a topical cream for a skin condition. Barbabella mentioned Trump had cataract surgery on both eyes and praised his “robust cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and general physical function.” He credited Trump’s active lifestyle for supporting his health.
After the exam, Trump told reporters, “I took a cognitive test… I got every answer right.” He emphasized passing multiple tests, including heart evaluations.
Growing Skepticism: A Doctor Raises New Concerns
Despite the official report, some experts question Trump’s health. Psychologist Dr. John Gartner voiced concerns on The Dean Obeidallah Show, citing signs of motor skill decline and possible dementia.
Gartner noted that Trump’s movements have changed over the years. Footage shows Trump’s coordination in the 1980s when he played volleyball, performing quick, agile moves. Now, however, Trump reportedly struggles with walking and stair climbing, sometimes tripping or falling.
Key Symptoms Pointing to Dementia
Dr. Gartner identified three key symptoms suggesting dementia: frequent tumbles, unusual leg swinging, and impaired left leg function. He described Trump’s right leg swinging in a semicircle, a hallmark sign of frontotemporal dementia.
Gartner shared that neurologists he consulted confirmed this assessment. Dr. Zoffman, a colleague, said she’s “absolutely convinced” Trump suffers from frontotemporal dementia based on these motor symptoms.
