Born in San Diego in 1986 to Telugu Indian immigrant parents, Usha Vance was raised in a household that valued education and discipline. Although Usha was once registered as a Democrat, by 2022 she aligned more closely with her husband’s Republican politics. She left her legal career in July 2024 to support his vice presidential campaign full-time. At the 2024 Republican National Convention, she delivered an introductory address — one of her first major public roles. Since then, she has become a trusted advisor to her husband, appearing regularly at high-profile events.

As her public visibility grew, so did her style. She transitioned from simple, practical outfits to more polished, fashion-forward looks.  By the time of her husband’s inauguration, she was wearing designer gowns — including a peony‑pink Oscar de la Renta coat at the swearing-in.

Usha has made deliberate choices about her appearance. When asked why she refuses to dye her gray hair, she responded with humor and authenticity. She said she would look absurd as a blonde.
