Sick and disgusting social media posts celebrate Charlie Kirk’s death after Utah shooting

The assassination of Charlie Kirk has not only stunned his supporters but also unleashed a wave of ‘vile and disgusting online reactions‘, with left-wing users mocking the conservative activist’s final moments and even suggesting he “deserved” to be shot.

Mocking a Murder

Kirk, 31, was fatally shot in the neck Wednesday during a Q&A at Utah Valley University. As tributes poured in from across the political spectrum, a darker chorus erupted online.

“I’m not saying Charlie Kirk deserved to be shot, but I think enablers to pedophiles should be shot, too,” one post read.

Others compared Kirk to Adolf Hitler, shared memes about him “debating the bullet,” and sneered that he “died with the love of his life — school shootings.”

On TikTok, some users posted mock-crying videos set to dramatic music, while on BlueSky, another joked: “This wouldn’t have happened if Charlie Kirk had been armed.”

Political Climate Turns Toxic

The gleeful mockery comes as Democrats in Congress and voices in the media face scrutiny for how they handled news of Kirk’s death.

On MSNBC, analyst Matthew Dowd speculated on-air whether the fatal shot could have come from one of Kirk’s own supporters — remarks slammed as “disgusting” and “shameful.”

In the House chamber, a moment of silence for Kirk turned into chaos when Democrats shouted “No!” to a request for prayer. Florida Republican Anna Paulina Luna erupted, yelling: “You f**ing own this!”*

A Family in Mourning

Behind the noise, Kirk’s wife Erika and their two small children, a daughter, 3, and a son, 16 months, are left grieving. The couple had celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary in May.

President Donald Trump confirmed Kirk’s death and ordered flags lowered to half-staff nationwide. “The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead,” Trump wrote. “Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!”

Chaos on Campus

Witnesses described the scene as Kirk collapsed into his chair, blood pouring from his neck. “He was just a fountain of blood… all these kids are just falling apart and bawling,” attendee Sophie Anderson told the Daily Mail.

UVU officials said the shot came from the rooftop of the Losee Center, about 200 yards from the tent where Kirk sat. The campus was left shaken as students and faculty grappled with the shocking violence that cut short the event.
