Scotty McCreery and Wife Gabi Celebrate First Halloween as Parents with Their “Little Pumpkin” Avery 🎃

Scotty McCreery and Wife Gabi Celebrate One Week With Their “Little Pumpkin”

Scotty McCreery and his wife Gabi marked a heartwarming milestone on Halloween, celebrating one week since welcoming their baby boy, Merrick Avery McCreery.

The couple shared a cozy family photo on social media featuring Scotty, Gabi, their newborn son, and their beloved dog, Moose. Gabi captioned the post:

“One week with our little pumpkin 🎃🧡.”

In the picture, the new parents beam with joy while wearing matching Jack-o’-Lantern T-shirts, as baby Avery looks adorable in an orange-striped pumpkin onesie. Moose, however, appeared a bit uncertain about his new sibling, prompting Gabi to joke:

“Moose is still a little spooked by the newest family addition 👻😅.”

A Meaningful Name and a New Adventure

Baby Merrick Avery is named in honor of Gabi’s father, Merrick (Tre) Dugal III, according to a press release announcing his birth.

Scotty shared his overwhelming pride and joy at becoming a father:

“Next to his mother, he is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. We have been waiting and preparing all year, and now we are so excited to have our little man here with us. We have begun a grand new adventure that will continue for the rest of our lives.”

The “Damn Strait” singer also praised his wife’s strength during delivery:

“Gabi was a total rock star during Avery’s birth. I could not be more proud of her. She has already taken to motherhood like a champ. Part of my joy as his dad is watching Gabi already crush it as his mom.”

McCreery added that welcoming a son carried special meaning for him personally:

“I’m no longer the last male McCreery. It’s up to Avery now.”

Balancing Fatherhood and Country Stardom

Just before Avery’s birth, Scotty reflected on what a remarkable year it’s been — balancing fatherhood and career highs.

“I’ve known since February that I’m gonna be a father by the end of the year — and then having my biggest song with ‘Damn Strait’ at the same time,” he told PEOPLE. “I don’t think I’ve stopped smiling all year.”

The new dad also revealed that he and Gabi plan to bring baby Avery along on tour. Inspired by fellow artist Brett Young, who tours with his wife and daughters, Scotty said they intend to outfit his tour bus with a crib so the family can travel together.

“It’s doable,” he explained. “We just have to find what works for us.”

A Family Full of Joy

From celebrating their newborn’s first week on Halloween to planning for life on the road as new parents, Scotty and Gabi are clearly embracing every moment of this new chapter.

Their “little pumpkin” may only be one week old, but it’s clear the McCreery household is already filled with love, laughter — and plenty of country music.
