RFK Jr. Explains Why He Wears Jeans to the Gym
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. revealed the unusual reason he wears jeans while working out—after a viral video left social media users baffled.
Denim Workouts Go Viral
The health secretary was seen performing chin-ups and push-ups in denim trousers at a Pentagon gym in Arlington, Virginia, just across the Potomac River from Washington DC.
The session was part of the Trump administration’s Make America Healthy Again initiative. During the “Pete and Bobby Challenge,” Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth completed 100 push-ups and 50 pull-ups in 10 minutes alongside RFK Jr.
After posting the clip on Twitter, RFK Jr. left viewers scratching their heads. His caption read:
“I teamed up with @SecDef Hegseth for the ‘Pete & Bobby Challenge’ — 50 pull-ups, 100 push-ups. This is the start of a nationwide push to get Americans fit again. We’re calling on our friend @SecDuffy to take the challenge.”
RFK Jr. Explains
Fox News’ Jesse Watters asked the question on Jesse Watters Primetime:
“Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., why do you wear jeans when you work out?”
RFK Jr. replied:
“I just started doing that a long time ago because I would go hiking in the morning and then go straight to the gym. I found it was convenient, and now I’m used to it, so I just do it.”
At 71, the health secretary genuinely believes jeans are a practical workout choice—even while hiking boots complete the unconventional ensemble.
A Bizarre Gym Victory
Despite the unusual attire, RFK Jr. powered through multiple workouts. He even outperformed Hegseth, who struggled with chin-ups. Watters’ response added to the absurdity:
“Okay. There are a lot of theories but that makes perfect sense.”
Yes, perfect sense—if you’re redefining gym fashion.
Denim Diplomacy
Whether fans are amused or horrified, RFK Jr.’s gym style is certainly memorable. Jeans, hiking boots, and all, he proved that unconventional attire doesn’t stop him from completing a serious workout.
