The 16 and Pregnant star Whitney Purvis is mourning a heartbreaking loss. She revealed that her son, Weston Gosa Jr., passed away on June 2 at the age of 16. She shared the tragic news in a Facebook post.
“This is so hard to write. My beautiful son, Weston, has passed away. He was only 16 years old. Life is so cruel and unfair. I just don’t understand. Oh my baby is gone and I don’t know what to do with myself. He was so perfect. This is really my worst nightmare come true. How do you go on in life after losing a child? I’m in disbelief, this cannot be happening. I don’t want it to be real. I would do anything just to hold him. Words just can’t describe the pain I am feeling.”
“I love you so much, Weston Owen Gosa. God, I love you so much. You are my heart. I was so proud of the young man you were becoming. I just can’t go on without you.”
“Rest in Peace, my angel. You are gone too soon. April 2, 2009 – June 2, 2025.”
Whitney, who appeared on 16 and Pregnant in 2009, expressed her heartbreak over the tragedy, saying she can’t understand why life can be so cruel.
Weston’s stepmother, Amy Gosa, shared that they found Weston unresponsive around 7 a.m. Despite attempts to revive him with CPR and emergency help from paramedics, he was later pronounced dead at a hospital in Gordon County, Georgia, according to E! News.
According to E! News, Weston had been dealing with multiple health issues, including diabetes and Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency, a genetic disorder that can lead to lung and liver complications. The family is currently awaiting autopsy results to determine his official cause of death.
