Photo Of Man With Daughter In Walmart Sparks Outrage After People Spot Unexpected Detail

Police are investigating after photos surfaced showing a man allegedly forcefully gripping his daughter’s hair and attaching it to a shopping cart inside a Cleveland Walmart.

Eyewitness Erika Burch, who took the photos, said the child was crying and begging, “Please stop. I promise I won’t do it again.” When Burch confronted the man, he told her to “mind your own business.” Her husband, Robert, said the man “dragged that baby around the store.”

Another shopper, Ora Schumann, said the man appeared angry because the child wasn’t staying near the cart.

Burch called police, and Cleveland Police Chief Darrel Broussard confirmed they are working with Child Protective Services (CPS). CPS is investigating whether the man has a history of similar behavior.

Burch’s Facebook post about the incident has been shared over 18,000 times, sparking outrage and debate about parenting and public discipline. While many condemned the man’s actions, others urged caution in rushing to judgment.

No charges have been filed yet, and the investigation is ongoing.
