Pamela Anderson’s bold look at the Met Gala sparks reaction

Pamela Anderson stunned everyone at the 2025 Met Gala — not just with her outfit, but with how completely unrecognizable she looked.

At 57, aging is expected, but this went beyond that. It was like seeing a totally different person. And, of course, the internet had plenty to say.

Ditched her signature long locks

Pamela Anderson is no stranger to turning heads, and at the 2025 Met Gala on Monday, she unveiled a fresh new look — while still holding on to a few signature touches.

The former Baywatch star, once hailed as an international sex symbol, seems to have fully embraced a ”makeup-free” lifestyle, making waves in an industry where glamor is the unspoken rule.

On Monday, May 5 in New York City, she hit the red carpet with a chic short blonde bob — reminiscent of the micro bangs Miley Cyrus rocked at the Oscars after-party in March. Ditching her signature glam, Anderson opted for a minimalist makeup look that let her natural features shine.

She wore a sleek, silver structured gown by Tory Burch, with a nod to the “Tailored for You” dress code. The long-sleeve gown featured a wide neckline and was adorned with intricate blue, red, and silver crystals. She accessorized with jewelry from Pandora.

“Pam wanted to wear makeup again for the Met Gala, so we created a look that acknowledged her natural beauty but then took it to the next level,” makeup artist extraordinaire Pat McGrath said, according to People.

“We wanted to explore the next incarnation of natural — an elevation of natural — and to show how you can wear a full face of makeup but in a very fresh and beautiful way.”

”Her stylist needs fired”

At the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, Pamela was joined at the event by her son, Brandon Thomas Lee, who she shares with her ex-husband, musician Tommy Lee. According to People, Brandon Thomas Lee kept his look classic, opting for a black tuxedo by Genuardi.

As always at events like the Met Gala, all eyes were on the stars’ outfits, and Pamela Anderson’s look certainly stood out. But, as is often the case, opinions were divided. On one side, people praised Pam for her boldness and admired how gracefully she’s aged. On the other hand, there were those who just couldn’t get behind the dress or the whole vibe of the outfit.

Many of the top comments on E! News’ video of Pamela were far from positive.

“I love her, but her stylist needs fired,” one user wrote on Instagram.

“I get it. I love it. But I’d really like to see her with some eyebrows,” said another.

“It’s like she is going all out to look as unattractive as possible and she is making a good job of it,” a third commented.

“What happened to her beautiful hair? And that dress…” added someone else.

Joan of Arc?

Anderson first made headlines for going makeup-free when she showed up bare-faced for Paris Fashion Week in the fall of 2023.

”I don’t know, something just kind of came over me and I was dressing in these beautiful clothes and I thought, ‘I don’t want to compete with the clothes,’” she told Vogue France at the time.

A surprising number of internet users couldn’t help but compare Pamela Anderson to Joan of Arc, sparking a wave of online discussion. And maybe the comparison isn’t so far off, both figuratively and literally.

Both women have faced immense public scrutiny, with their appearances often dissected and criticized by the masses.

The 57-year-old Pamela, known for being one of the most iconic sex symbols of her time, has continually reinvented herself — much like Joan did in her own time, challenging the traditional roles set for women.

Pamela Anderson’s new Met Gala look has certainly sparked a lot of conversation, and it’s clear that opinions are divided. Some are praising her bold, makeup-free approach and her elegant yet daring outfit, while others just can’t wrap their heads around it. Is she redefining beauty standards, or is it a misstep?

What do you think — did Pamela nail it, or is this one look that should’ve stayed in the past? Drop your thoughts in the comment section.
