Our heartfelt sympathies and prayers are with Donald Trump and his family as they cope with their loss.

Lou Dobbs, the renowned political commentator, has died at the age of 78. Known for his time at Fox News and CNN, Dobbs was a controversial figure, especially for his statements about Barack Obama.

Former President Donald Trump expressed his sorrow on Truth Social, calling Dobbs “an incredible talent” and a “friend and truly amazing reporter, journalist, and artist.” Trump added, “Lou was one of a kind, and he loved our country.”

Dobbs started his career at KBLU radio in Arizona before moving to television in the mid-1970s, joining NBC’s King-TV in Seattle. In 1980, he became one of the first reporters for CNN, hosting the business news show Moneyline.

Dobbs left CNN in 2009 amid controversy over his coverage of illegal immigration. He joined Fox Business in 2010, hosting “Lou Dobbs Tonight” until it was canceled in 2021.

Fox News Media expressed their condolences, describing Dobbs as “an amazing businessman with a gift for broadcasting” and acknowledging his significant contributions to cable news. Dobbs is survived by his wife, Debi, and their six children.
