Orlando Bloom has been fiercely criticized after sharing an ‘inappropriate’ photo of his four-year-old daughter with fans.
Instagram users have branded the move ‘out of touch’ with reality, as the Lord of the Rings actor shared a controversial picture of his young daughter.
The star shares four-year-old Daisy Dove Bloom with his former fiancée Katy Perry, after the two parted ways earlier this year.
They welcomed their daughter in 2020, after first meeting at the Golden Globe awards in 2016.
But while Bloom looked ever the doting dad in the new snap, as he could be seen carrying his daughter down the beach towards the sea, fans branded the picture controversial.
Hours before amending the image, he shared the picture without a yellow love heart emoji covering her.
But after it seemingly sparked outrage among fans, Bloom swiftly changed it.
Taking to Reddit to voice their concerns, one person said: “Some parents are such idiots.
“They don’t post this child’s face on social media, so they do understand privacy, but then post a naked pic. Make it make sense.”
Another added: “I can’t help but feel like you have to be so out of touch to think it’s okay to post a naked photo of your daughter, to a huge fanbase, and not consider the repercussions.
“I can understand how that might be a meaningful photo for a parent, but not on the interweb for millions to see.”
A third noted: “Poor thing. I know having everything you desire would be nice, but having a celeb as a parent sounds like a special kind of headache for kids.
“Having a guardian so detached from reality is scary.”
Others questioned whether the star had any ‘common sense.’
But it wasn’t just hate that Bloom received in the comments.
Others defended the actor, suggesting that people are trying to make the situation ‘weird.’
One expressed: “I used to run around naked, and a lot of the kids I grew up with did also.
“It’s innocent and the fact that people are trying to make it weird ARE WEIRD AF.”
Another agreed, adding: “Why are people saying protect the child… Jeez, my childhood photos would have had loads of stickers over them, bare butts everywhere.”
Bloom and Perry choose to keep the identity of their daughter private, ensuring to avoid posting any pictures of her face.
The scandal comes just after Bloom joked he was dating a world leader, as Perry was spotted with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
The two could be seen dining in an intimate setting in Montreal, amid her Lifetimes Tour.
But despite the pair looking cosy, a source told the Daily Mail that they do not suspect it was anything serious.
