News Anchor Accidentally Exposes More Than Expected On Live TV Behind Glass Desk

Journalist Costanza Calabrese had an unexpected mishap on live TV that left viewers both amused and sympathetic.

While presenting the news on a late-night TG5 broadcast in 2016, Calabrese was seated behind a transparent desk.

Unknowingly, she ended up recreating a scene reminiscent of Basic Instinct, quickly catching the internet’s attention.

The segment began with the camera focused on her face and shoulders as she delivered the news. But as the broadcast progressed, the camera slowly zoomed out, revealing more of the studio—and more than Calabrese realized.

Unaware of the desk’s see-through nature, Costanza sat with her legs apart, a position that offered no concealment below her waist.

As the camera continued to pull back, it inadvertently exposed far more than anyone, especially Costanza, had anticipated.

An amused viewer captured the unexpected reveal and uploaded it to YouTube. The video went viral, racking up over 6 million views and sparking a wide range of reactions.

One viewer expressed sympathy: “Poor woman! Surely her producers should have let her know something was up!” Highlighting a clear oversight by the production team.

Another viewer, confused by the incident, asked: “How was her dress so high in the first place?”

In a lighter tone, a third viewer jokingly invoked journalism ethics:

“When in journalism class they teach you that you have to be transparent and not hide anything. Number one.”

A fourth viewer simply appreciated the unintended humor, saying: “Thank you, Costanza. That’s beautiful.”

Beyond going viral, the incident sparked discussions about production responsibilities and the impact such live TV blunders can have on professionals. It also raised conversations about the delicate balance between transparency and privacy in broadcast journalism.
