MSNBC host Nicole Wallace faced online backlash Tuesday evening following President Donald Trump’s address to Congress and her remarks about one of his guests.
During his speech, Trump recognized DJ Daniel, a 13-year-old cancer survivor, making him an honorary U.S. Secret Service agent. Republicans applauded, while most Democrats remained seated.
After co-host Rachel Maddow claimed Trump politicized Daniel’s recovery, Wallace commented, expressing joy for Daniel’s survival and future. However, her remark took a controversial turn when she said, “I hope he never has to defend the United States Capitol against Donald Trump’s supporters.” This comment sparked immediate criticism online.
Trump had simply praised Daniel’s survival and dreams of becoming a law enforcement officer, without taking credit for his recovery.
