Reddit users were left perplexed by a parent’s challenge to locate their daughter in a cunning hiding place.
On the ‘find the sniper’ thread, user Snzzyman shared a picture of a rock formation in the Bay of Islands, New Zealand, that was covered in tiny marine life. The seemingly unremarkable image of a rock proved to be difficult.
Finding the poster’s daughter in the picture was more of a surprise than many Reddit users anticipated because she was concealed somewhere behind a hole in the rock.

People were left feeling scared, perplexed, and maybe a little worried.
According to Snzzyman, they had to seize the chance to create the ideal optical illusion.
“Long term snipe fan!” they wrote. “I saw great potential when I saw the little hole in the rock haha.“
It was more difficult to locate the hole where the daughter’s face was visible.
See if you get confused as easily as the comment section by looking at the picture. In less than 20 seconds, can you locate her face in the picture?
How did you fare?
You’re in good company if you couldn’t figure out the puzzle in a flash.
Most individuals were totally perplexed by the image. Others gave up completely, while others provided off-base responses.
One user wrote, “I spent more time trying to uncover the scale of the picture than finding her. I have to say I thought it was a huge mountain and when I saw her face I actually gasped. This was a great one.”
Another said, “Let’s face it, that was a good one.”
“Took a while to spot. Peak-a-boo,” a third joked.
Some people looked at the picture in great detail, but were shocked when the answer suddenly appeared.
One user wrote, “NGL, I got a little freaked out.”
Another agreed: “Ha! I zoomed right into it and she jump-scared me.”
The element of surprise appeared to be common with one viewer exclaiming, “I can’t see any- OH MY GAWD!!!”
And some people were just seeing things: “2/3rds down from the top, 2/3rds across to the right, wearing a dark blue, long-sleeved jacket and pants that match the color of the rock, arms raised, maybe also taking a picture of you?”
You’re in good company, then, if you’re still stuck.
A little hole just right of the centre of the rock formation shows the daughter’s toothy smile. Her smile should be visible if you zoom in three quarters of the way up.
It’s difficult to notice the rock’s hole from a distance, but when the image was fully zoomed in, she stood out like a sore thumb.
