The heartwarming story that follows is the ideal example of how even the smallest act of kindness can occasionally make a big difference.

One evening, Lindsey Sheely, a resident of West Warwick, Rhode Island, placed an order for pizza. Her two-year-old son Cohen ran after her and hugged the delivery man as she left the house to pick up her order. The man was delighted to give Cohen a hug in return when the youngster merely extended his arms in his direction.

Lindsey chose to post this touching moment on social media to spread some optimism after it was captured by a camera installed in her doorbell. But she was unaware of how much the delivery man valued her son’s gesture.

After her video was widely circulated, a man named Ryan Catterson messaged her to be the delivery man her youngster had cuddled. He requested authorization to distribute her footage. Naturally, she was happy that he wanted to do that, but she discovered when looking through his profile that he had lost his 16-year-old daughter, Alyssa, the week before.

“It affected me because it felt like my daughter was there after I lost her the week before. Ryan told WLNE, “It meant a lot to me.

When Lindsay saw how her son’s embrace affected Ryan, she described it as “a little blessing from God.”

“I have faith in divine intervention, and I know that Ryan brought our pizza for a reason,” she remarked.

That hug was just what this bereaved father needed, and it arrived at the perfect moment.

He said to NBC 10 News, “It was almost as if the universe or my daughter had sent it to me.”

“You never know what people are going through,” adds Lindsay. This is an excellent illustration of that, and we wholeheartedly concur.
